Pronotum cordate [Abb.1], broadest before the middle and tapering in a concave curve towards the base; base of the pronotum narrower than the base of the elytra.
Tibiae with a tooth-like projection on the outer apical corner [Abb.2]; middle and hind tibiae curved. Pronotum semi-circular with broadly flattened sides and a concave front margin. Elytra roundish with flattened sides [Abb.3].
Tibiae not toothed at the tip; middle and hind tibiae straight. Pronotum broader than long, not flattened towards the sides. Sides of the elytra only bordered not clearly flattened.
Front margin of the pronotum truncate, almost straight. Slender, rather parallel-sided species [Abb.4]. Antennae without a clear club, but evenly and slightly broadening towards the tip with the segments loosely attached. Last segment of the palps thickened and ovate, broader than the penultimate segment.
Front margin of the pronotum more or less angularly sinuate. Body relatively broader. Antennae more distinctly broadening but without a really clear club. Last segment of the palps long and not broader than the penultimate segment.
Length 5-6 mm. Elongate oval [Abb.5]. Shining pitchy black with reddish-brown sides. Clypeus separated from the antennae by a distinct transverse furrow. Last segment of the antennae noticeably large. Widely distributed species.
